With the increase of ransomware, crypto-mining and other attacks hackers are taking on Android users with unending force. Millions of dollars were stolen and identities hacked, as well as computing power was given away to cybercriminals over the last few years. A good antivirus software for Android can protect your system from all kinds of threats. Look for an app that is easy to install, user-friendly and comes with additional features such as security tools, anti-theft protections and parental controls.
Avast Mobile Security has a well-known reputation in the world of security on the Internet. Its Android version has a full suite of protection with a free version and affordable subscription plans that offer complete protection for your mobile device/s, PC and laptop/tablet/computer. Its malware protection is top-quality with little impact on performance. It also has a call blocker, VPN and junk cleaner. It also includes a photo vault WiFi network security, RAM booster, anti-theft and web security.
Kaspersky Mobile Antivirus is another good option for absolute protection at a low cost. Its malware-detection capabilities work well with minimal battery drain. It also comes with the ability to block calls, Wear OS support, and other features. The only downside is that it’s not as user-friendly of its competitors and it doesn’t provide a money-back assurance.
AhnLab, from South Korea, is another excellent option. It scored near-perfectly in my hands-on and lab tests but it’s a bit less user-friendly interface. It’s not as active on social platforms or community forums as other apps on this listing. However, it has high detection rates for Android malware, according to AV-Test and AV-Comparatives (but it hasn’t been tested by either lab since 2015).
